He planned the perfect Easter celebration for his family—Easter egg hunt, daughter’s birthday bash, the works. Hours later, the mother of his 5 kids allegedly ran him over with her SUV, pinning him against a house while their children watched. She walked into court… laughing.

What a shocking twist on a day meant for joy.

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. He spent weeks planning the perfect Easter. The decorations were up. The grill was ready. Music played. Children ran through the yard. It was supposed to be one of the most beautiful days this family had seen in a long time.

By 10:21 p.m., McKis James Bostik was dead — pinned between an SUV and a house.

“She would do him so cruel and so wrong,” a family member later said. “It’s not fair. It’s not right. But he’s a good person. He’s truly going to be missed. You know, a long time ago, they said there’s a few good men left. He was one of them.”

Easter Sunday 2025 in Birmingham started like a postcard. McKis, 27, had organized everything himself. He reached out to family days earlier, telling them to come through to the house on Lisa Lane in the Roebuck Springs area. There would be an Easter egg hunt. There would be new memories. There was another reason to celebrate, too. April 21st was his youngest daughter’s 7th birthday. So this was a joint celebration — Easter and birthday, wrapped together.

For most of the afternoon, it worked. Family gathered. Food came off the grill. Laughter bounced off the walls.

But as evening came, something shifted.
